"A warm, welcoming congregation..."
Rodef
Sholom Temple is steeped in the rich traditions of Conservative
Judaism offering a wide variety of spiritual, educational, cultural,
and social programs. Our services are egalitarian and participatory.
All members have the opportunity to read Torah, lead services,
and receive Aliyot.
Shabbat is welcomed with a festive Kabbalat
service and Oneg Shabbat. After Saturday services, a Kiddush
luncheon is sponsored by Sisterhood. Tot Shabbat and Junior Congregation
programs encourage the participation of our children. Morning
services are held Monday and Thursday at 7:45, followed by breakfast
where everyone can relax and “schmooze” prior to
work or play. Congregational dinners provide opportunities to
experience Shabbat and holidays as a community.
Our religious school provides classes for students
in grades K-10. Bar/Bat Mitzvah and Confirmation students receive
intensive instruction from Rabbi. We offer local and regional
Kadima and USY youth activities. This year, Rabbi will teach
conversational Hebrew and a three-part course: “G-d, Torah
and Israel”.
The Gemillut Hassidim committee performs “acts
of loving kindness,” assisting members who are ill, convalescing,
or mourning. Transportation is available for members to attend
services or activities.
Sisterhood produces “Cabaret”--an
evening of theatrical entertainment directed and performed by
members, followed by dancing and breakfast--the highlight of
our social calendar. Men’s Club offers the opportunity
to study with Rabbi and participate in various social and fundraising
events.
