Meet Kehilat Yaar Ramot
Sunday, February 1, 2026, 10:00am
I recently communicated with our Region’s sister congregation in Jerusalem, Kehilat Yaar Ramot, and they are very much looking forward to our upcoming joint event at 10:00am on February 1, 2026. Mark your calendar and register to receive the Zoom link.
Tu B’Shvat is the birthday of the trees and a time to connect with the land and the environment. We thought it would be nice to host our first joint event with Yaar Ramot as a Tu B’Shvat celebration, allowing us to connect with the land of Israel virtually by connecting with the people.
I was born in Jerusalem, but haven’t lived there for many years. Being part of a Conservative congregation in Israel is unique because Conservative congregations are not that common in Israel, and in particular in Jerusalem, where Orthodox and Ultra Orthodox life has been taking over many areas of the city. It is challenging to maintain a Conservative congregation within that environment, but can you imagine a future where you would not be able to find a Conservative synagogue in Israel to pray in? Supporting Masorti is one way to help; connecting with the people of these congregations is another, and I think it is what is at the heart of the Women’s League Israel connection program, which Seaboard Region is joining for the first time.
During our session, we will have the opportunity to learn about the congregation firsthand from their rabbi and congregants, and we will have time for questions and discussion. If you are attending the event and have a question you would like to submit in advance, I encourage you to do that. Please email me here.
Looking forward to seeing you on Zoom on February 1st!!
